Sack cloth and ashes.

Very very clean sack cloth, and invisable ashes... So when I went to the doctors today, I had to strip down and put this paper thing on. My hair is messed up from the scarf :P anyway, I've been thinking a lot about God lately, and our relationship, so this is really a thought post.

A few years ago, I believe I was mildly depressed for a short period of time. Why? You ask, as most believe it impossible for somebody who is filled with joy in Christ. Because I was having a "faith lapse" no, not the kind where I didn't believe in God, or I doubted he was real. I'm talking about believing in God heart and soul but not believing that I truely loved him, and thinking that I was damned to hell, and finding it impossible that God could ever love me. I felt like the only reason I wanted to be a Christian was because I didn't want to go to hell, I just wanted the benifits of heaven. And then I had a crazy thought:
" I can't be saved, but I need to tell as many people as I can so that they will be saved."
1. obviously I can't save anyone
2. I'm saved.
How? You ask, well I started really thinking about it. Hell is more then just fire. Hell is the fire without the prayer. Without the praise, without the encouragement. If my house was burning down I could pray. If my house was burning down I could priase the Lord. If my house was burning down and me and my sister were going to die no matter what, I could hug my sister close to me, and we could die in each others arms, wispering prays.

In hell? Full and total seperation from Christ. FULL AND TOTAL. Never feeling comfort again. I think I could bear the weeping and nashing of teeth. The torchor. I couldn't live with out taking comfort in Christ. I couldn't live without the hope that is with in me. And so I would be eternaling dying. Which is why we call that the second death.

I feel like an idiot, but I look like an angel

Can I please just act conceited for a bit here?
I mean, here is how it goes:
You say your ugly, people are all "Oh no your not! Stop saying that!" Unless you are, then they say "Its whats on the inside that counts!" And guess what! Beauty is fleeting! It really is what you think, what you do, what you believe that makes you beautiful!

You gaze at your self in the mirror and think your beautiful. Your automatically conceited, vain, and prideful. Is there no medium? (No, because looks don't matter, remember?) Well I think looks matter just a bit. No, I'm not talking about your face, or your body, or your hair. The human eye is deceitful people. I'm talking about modesty (surprise?) and I'm especially talking about that special glow that Christians have on their faces.
Have you ever seen it?
The glow that came to my Moms face when her friend, who had been barren for years was blessed with a child.
When Chance came to church with us and started talking to paster Sam, and a huge smile hung on his face like a wreath.
Even in sorrow we rejoice. The faces of the mournful people, all in black. Smiling through the tears, singing praises with quaking voices. For the lady in the casket had assurance of faith and salvation.
I've written all this, and non of it is what I really meant to say. All I wanted to tell you, was that I feel beautiful right now. And I plan on feeling beautiful, for the wrest of my life.

Its now time to stand up for what we believe in

Friends, strangers, activists, readers. I think its time to take a stand. I'm finding that I've been scared to share my real opinions on issues of actual importance. On things such as abortion, homosexual rights, capital punishment, the health care bill.

First of all, let me just tell you that I am a covanent, reformed, orthodox, presbyterian, Christian. And I would like to ask that all comments on this post be made in a rational, non-insulting way. Logical arguments and debates will be excepted, name calling and degrading comments that have nothing to do with the subject will not.

Abortion.
In my opinion abortion is wrong. I believe that it is murder. I do not believe that it is a womans right to abort a baby because it is her body. Because our bodies are not our own!

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19)

Homosexuality.

The Bible pretty much lays out what I believe. Of course there is hope! We are all sinners, whether we like it or not. Do you think I haven't been greedy? Or I haven't slandered? Think again. But I have been forgiven, and I'm in the proccess of being sanctified.
We shouldn't pass judgment on gay friend, every friend we have is a sinner, does that mean we don't hang out with them, or we hate them? Of course not! We love them and we try to encourage them toward Christ!

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

Capital Punishment.

The bad thing about capital punishment is that people who are inoccent (non of us are inoccent by the way, but there a certain crimes that are deserving of death on earth) are somethimes killed.
Leviticus 24:17-22: "And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.

The health care bill.

We shouldn't HAVE to have healthcare. I mean, would you want to governemnt to feed you only vegatables? Also, it shouldn't be the governments job to provide this for us!

Alright! *claps hands* lets get some good conversations going! L<3VED

P.S. for all those who are all "But a loving God would never do this or that," Just remember that God created the wicked for their own desruction. I love the book of proverbs.

Happy reformation day!

John Wycliffe

Martin Luther

Jan Hus

Ulrich Zwingli (not sure about this fellow, haven't heard much about him before)

John Calvin

John Knox

“Sola Scriptura,” or Scripture Alone

“Sola Gratia,” Salvation by Grace Alone

“Sola Fide,” Salvation by Faith Alone

“Solus Christus,” In Christ Alone

“Soli Deo Gloria", For the Glory of God Alone

It would be quite absurd for me to post this with out any explanation, and so, an explanation will be given.

The men I listed at the top of this post were men of God, who observed that the catholic church had been corrupted. Selling and buying indulgences-which is to say, selling something that would make sure the buyer would go to heaven, was a popular practice. But salvation is by faith alone, by grace alone, and in Christ alone. Sola Gratia. Sola Fide. Solus Christus.
These men fought to proclaim those words, and exclaimed that only by faith in Jesus Christ they could be saved.
Another thing is the language. Would you be confused if I wrote this all in Latin. (No, because we are homeschoolers, and homeschoolers love to learn dead languages) (well, not every reader is home schooled so ehhhhhh) (hehe sorry, I'm straying)
The men listed above also worked to translate the bible into the common languages so that the people could understand!

These men were ridiculed, locked up, and some were even burned at the stake. They were martyred in their own country's, and they stood up and spoke the word of God.

Will you?

aww not again

So basically, yesterday my printer didn't want to upload photos (I upload through my printer) but dad was home and he fixed it for me. But today he isn't home, and its not working again!
So if it starts working later I'll upload my fashion show photos.

I think I'm going to take a break from blogging for a week. After 4 fashion shows in 2 weeks, I'm wiped out. I don't think I'll be reading blog either, since that is where the real time consumer is.
So send me the important stuff! You can reach me at my email: supergirl3468@gmail.com

I'm going to use this break (ha, lets see if I can actually stay away that long)to read some books. Thats gotta be the biggest thing that I've slowed down on since starting to blog. I'm also going to work on some things so I can start listing on Esty, concentrate more on school, and make Christmas gifts for friends and family.

See you in a week:) Or, ya know, when I decide I can't stay away that long;)

I might be back to my 'normal' self in the morning. "

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

So basically...

I would be showing you a photo of a bunch of guys wearing kilts and mixing plaid, but I can't.

I need some help people! My tool bar that has the little photo Icon is gone! Please find the kidnappers!

But as long as I'm here, I might as well give you a bit of an update.

Monday: I was called by the Cookie Place where I applied/interviewed to work for the Christmas season. Basically, they had some people quit, and they wanted me to start working the next day! So I went to The Cookie Place (fake name for privacy purposes) to grab a slip of paper that I needed to receive another work permit. Then we traveled downtown for the work permit. After that we stopped at the library to pick up a book we needed for literature. I also checked out some children's books on how things are made. For example: Books! I have an idea for a children's book. Then we grabbed some mcdonalds and brought home lunch. Staples and Fantastic Sam's were next on the list. My split ends were finally chopped off at Fantastic Sam's. Then we made an impromptu stop at target, and at a thrift store. Where I bought high waisted floral pants for one buck!
I didn't start school till public school was out. *Gasp* haha

Tuesday:
First day of work was so funtastic! And yes, I meant to spell it that way;) Since it was my first day I had the pleasure of making a smoothie, and drinking it! And the place I'm working at is practically a home school staple. I worked with a home school grad. Its so laid back compared with Theme Park! Although, I'm sure its way busier during the Christmas and valentine season. I spent most of my time there practicing decorating. Thats right people, I stood there and drew with icing! I also made some pretzels, and took orders!

Wednesday (today)
I'll be heading to work in a bit, my shirt starts at 12 and ends at 4. I have to do some math now >( that is the face I make toward math.

Just pretend this post had a photo of a bunch of guys wearing kilts and mixing plaid. Thank you.

Male modesty

As you may have noticed I put up (by the way, what does op mean? No little red line appeared before it as when I tried to type up, so I'm assuming its a word) a poll in the side bar about male modesty.

There is no question in my mind that guys can be in modest. But its just a bit more socially excepted.

So we have all of these hilarious vampire movies coming out and well, I'm sure you already know who I'm going to bring up. Jacob black, yes that kid, the one who takes his shirt of every ten minutes for a little bit of mild porn.
But the thing is, this isn't something that most people notice as being immodest, this is socially excepted because guys don't have breasts. I'd actually like to do a bit more research on male modesty history, and discover how the shirtless trend came about.

The bottom line is, just as girls can help guys sin by showing too much skin, guys can make girls sin just the same.
Think I'm wrong? Just go to the movies and watch the girls lust over Jacob.

Oh my, wouldn't it be amazing if my future husbands mission was to create modest bathing suits for guys? Since thats my mission for girls.

L<3VED

P.S. I'm not just talking about the skinny minnies, just as people don't like to see over weight girls in bikinis, they don't like to see overweight men or boys topless.
