This whole week makes you think.

This past week has been extremely heartbreaking. There was a fire fighter who died, a family whose house burned down, a speed team with members taking sides against one another. Gossip spread. And even some things that hurt so bad I want to tell everyone, but I have to hold my peace, and only talk about it to those involved. One thing I can say is that the most upright man I know has had his good name ruined. These last few sentances are not just from the past week, but have been occuring for some time now.

And all of this makes me think about how precious life is, and friends are. And how we can post silly statuses on facebook, or go out and have a fun time with friends, or laugh at a joke, but still be hurting on the inside. Everyone has different ways of dealing with greif and pain, and working it out. But I sincerely hope that in that pain, in any pain you may be having, that instead of turning away from God you turn toward God. Because God is the only one you can truly count on. He never changes, His mercies are ever lasting, and no matter how out of wack you think your life is right now, He is still in control, and He is still just.

Things I expect, but can't deliver.

I sometimes expect my body to be able to do things that it can not physically do. For instance, this week I expected to be able to run two miles, walk two miles, attend Wednesday and Friday practice, do 900 hundred crunches, and 900 leg lifts, weight training, 20 minutes worth of planks, and at least 70 push ups. No. "NO!" my body said. It rebelled. Its said "No, if you do that, I am going to give you multiple shin splints, I am going to make your knees hurt so bad that you think you can't walk. I'm going to make your abs so sore it feels like you have a knot in your stomach. I'm going to make your arms so sore you can hardly use them, and your elbows will hurt."
So now I'm slowing this down. No more running. Just walking. Less planks, better weight training schedule. Taking all my sports vitamins. Possibly testing my joints out to make sure I don't have some sort of stupid disease. Icing, resting.

So even though my team has practice tonight, and my rest day should be tomorrow, I'm making it today. Because when your body DEMANDS a break, you give it a break. You don't worry about how your team with think you're a sissy. You worry about YOURSELF. You worry about not being able to skate EVER. AGAIN.

My point is this, if you're working out, work out for you. Don't work out for others, and don't expect yourself do to what others can do.

P.S.huh. Practice was canceled. It all works out then.

I LOVE BOOBIES! (Or not?)

Apparently the time has come to 'raise breast cancer awareness'. This involves posting statuses on face book to confuse males, and not tell them what is going on. MEN GET BREAST CANCER TOO! EQUAL RIGHTS FOR MEN! ;)
Personally, I dislike the way people raise 'awareness' for breast cancer. I LOVE BOOBIES! How about "Women are beautiful"? If someone came up to me and told me they loved my Boobs, I would freak out. Did you know that Boobies is defined as a stupid or childish person?
Maybe I would feel differently about it if I actually had breast cancer, but for right now, I feel that many campaigns such as this are degrading to women.
Anyway, I hope this post deeply offended you. Please feel free to harass me in the comment section below.

Rawr

Lately I've been admiring outfits that are simple, but have one BANG! accessory. For instance, jeans, t-shirt, brown belt, brown shoes, TIGER! It just kind of...jumps out to you? Har har har. I made a punny.

It felt pretty great wearing stinky clothes and using my self timer again.
