This whole week makes you think.

This past week has been extremely heartbreaking. There was a fire fighter who died, a family whose house burned down, a speed team with members taking sides against one another. Gossip spread. And even some things that hurt so bad I want to tell everyone, but I have to hold my peace, and only talk about it to those involved. One thing I can say is that the most upright man I know has had his good name ruined. These last few sentances are not just from the past week, but have been occuring for some time now.

And all of this makes me think about how precious life is, and friends are. And how we can post silly statuses on facebook, or go out and have a fun time with friends, or laugh at a joke, but still be hurting on the inside. Everyone has different ways of dealing with greif and pain, and working it out. But I sincerely hope that in that pain, in any pain you may be having, that instead of turning away from God you turn toward God. Because God is the only one you can truly count on. He never changes, His mercies are ever lasting, and no matter how out of wack you think your life is right now, He is still in control, and He is still just.

Things I expect, but can't deliver.

I sometimes expect my body to be able to do things that it can not physically do. For instance, this week I expected to be able to run two miles, walk two miles, attend Wednesday and Friday practice, do 900 hundred crunches, and 900 leg lifts, weight training, 20 minutes worth of planks, and at least 70 push ups. No. "NO!" my body said. It rebelled. Its said "No, if you do that, I am going to give you multiple shin splints, I am going to make your knees hurt so bad that you think you can't walk. I'm going to make your abs so sore it feels like you have a knot in your stomach. I'm going to make your arms so sore you can hardly use them, and your elbows will hurt."
So now I'm slowing this down. No more running. Just walking. Less planks, better weight training schedule. Taking all my sports vitamins. Possibly testing my joints out to make sure I don't have some sort of stupid disease. Icing, resting.

So even though my team has practice tonight, and my rest day should be tomorrow, I'm making it today. Because when your body DEMANDS a break, you give it a break. You don't worry about how your team with think you're a sissy. You worry about YOURSELF. You worry about not being able to skate EVER. AGAIN.

My point is this, if you're working out, work out for you. Don't work out for others, and don't expect yourself do to what others can do.

P.S.huh. Practice was canceled. It all works out then.

I LOVE BOOBIES! (Or not?)

Apparently the time has come to 'raise breast cancer awareness'. This involves posting statuses on face book to confuse males, and not tell them what is going on. MEN GET BREAST CANCER TOO! EQUAL RIGHTS FOR MEN! ;)
Personally, I dislike the way people raise 'awareness' for breast cancer. I LOVE BOOBIES! How about "Women are beautiful"? If someone came up to me and told me they loved my Boobs, I would freak out. Did you know that Boobies is defined as a stupid or childish person?
Maybe I would feel differently about it if I actually had breast cancer, but for right now, I feel that many campaigns such as this are degrading to women.
Anyway, I hope this post deeply offended you. Please feel free to harass me in the comment section below.

Rawr

Lately I've been admiring outfits that are simple, but have one BANG! accessory. For instance, jeans, t-shirt, brown belt, brown shoes, TIGER! It just kind of...jumps out to you? Har har har. I made a punny.

It felt pretty great wearing stinky clothes and using my self timer again.

I am so confused, and just not understanding this at all. (Skating stuff)

I am so confused. I don't think I was ever in this much pain before I started really trying to work out and eat healthier. I didn't constantly feel like I'm about to fall over because my knees felt like they were locking up. I didn't feel like I was void of energy. I didn't have shin splints. I didn't feel like someone was sewing through my legs with a long needle. I didn't have to limp because my foot hurt.

What is wrong with me?

I thought I was supposed to feel GOOD. I thought I would be energized, and ready to face any challenge.

The other day I pulled a muscles, because I 'stood up too fast'.

I keep getting colds.

And its not like I'm starving myself or anything. I feel like every time I eat, I eat three meals. I don't constantly eat like I used to, maybe I should go back to that...but its hard when I'm not actually home that much. Maybe I should start sleeping more. I hate that I'm getting to bed late, yet instinctively getting up early. When I try to go to sleep, it takes a few hours. I'm still getting off my nyquil...from being sick for what feels like forever.

I feel like crying almost every day. (This may just be a teen age girl hormone problem ;) (It also may have something to do with doctor who, and all the stupid emotional paths I'm sent down while watching it)

I want to skate OUTSIDE again. But there's either not enough time to skate before work, or its dark by the time I'm off work. I miss summer. Its seriously cool that its cold an all, I just can't stand skating in the dark if I didn't start out in the day light. Also I scare myself. When I skate at night I usually call someone so I don't think of horror movie characters. I miss the out doors. I like it much more then indoor.

Anyway, just rambling. COMPLAINING of course. Feel like a wimp. Whatever. Later.

Sweet Thang Vintage and hand made jewelry

Hey guys guess what! You know that Etsy shop I've had for like....two years? Well I finally listed some items! It would be much appreciated if you would go check it out! Thanks loves!

The urg to dress in revealing clothes when fit.

You guysssss! I'm in battle! I'm fighting a fit battle! Everyday I've been working out. I absolutely LOVE! my body, though it still needs work. The absolute hardest part of getting fit? Its not the weights, the shin splints, the running, the squats, the drills, the push ups, or skipping my favorite foods. Its knowing that once I have accomplished my goal, I wont be able to show my body off.
What frivolous scandal! How dare I! But its true.
I mean of course in some ways such as my BUFF arms I can show, but not my rock solid abs man! (I don't have either of these yet, but someday....:) I am sure they will look absolutely fab under my scrub shirt for swimming!
Gotta keep reminding myself that someday, I will be giving my body to somebody very special, and he will appreciate it more then the hundreds of people who would ever see it if I dressed immodestly.

Someone is missing.

Missing is a strange thing. I miss Colorado more then I missed my own friends and family and house and church when I was there. I think I may even miss it more then my skates. Oh, by the way, I actually bought new skates. Cost me more then a used car. Use them as much as a can. <3 Keeps me distracted. Working for something.
I miss being awoken by a guy yelling something random. I miss the silly things the "dish pit" wrote on tape, and attached to...many things, but mostly the drink dispensers. Shivering in class because Colorado is kinda cold don't ya know? (Yes, I miss the minisotians) I miss sharing a time of praise and worship with nearly 200 other people.
I miss sitting an the side of a beautiful green grassed hill, just hanging out with my friends, listening to guitar. Listening to the piano when we were back at the hotel. (I nearly said 'home' just there) Laughing about Mathblue, commenting on THOR's clothing choices, conversing quietly with Reagan during class. Sleeping in a bunk bed with encouraging vandalism, sharing a room with one of my best friends. Trying to win the room inspection. Our room covered in balloons. :)
Riding in the bus! The chuck wagon was the best. "I think I can I think I can I think I can" up hills.
The park we went to. Jason. The good food. Walking down into Manitue. Visiting the cave, and graffiti falls. The custard shop. Huffing up a hill and thinking of how out of shape I am. The cool, fresh air. Hot drinks and cold water, peanut butter and jelly, always out. The food. Open forums.
Men being gentle men. Holding open doors, giving up seats, taking trays. Women being ladies, accepting it, thanking them.
People randomly bursting into song. The way Dr.Noebel pronounced words. All the teachers, especially Chuck Edwards, and Jeff Myers.
Out of breath at the top of the stairs, after practically jogging up four stories. Small group. The fire, always going. The cool chess pieces. The front porch. The back porch. Wal-mart trips.
Mya screaming "BILL BOARDS"
Natasha eating fruit. :) Angela being such a beautiful example, and a good friend-to everyone, not just me.
"Anyone from Texas?" (insert whoops, hollers, cheers, and hand gestures)
Candy from Hawaii. Courtesy of Mya. Chats about stereotypes, with Jessica and Seth. Singing A very Potter musical songs, also with Jess and Spleth.
"Frolicking upon the rocks" Making people try Ski, and acting insulted when they didn't like it.

I know, you probably stopped reading already. Thats fine. I guess its more for me, then for you. I think the only thing I don't miss, is the bathrooms and showers and waking up at 6:30.

L<3VED.

P.S. Brents fedora, the bandanna crew, and those guys (I think they were staff) who always dressed like they were ready to be in a Tommy Hilfiger add.

My vacation was better then yours! :P

So I'm back from my two week 'vacation' AKA two weeks of world view classes at Summit Ministries in Colorado. I reccomend it to you all, but as you can already tell, it will not help with your spelling.

Why yes indeed, it was the most average place I have ever been. LOVE!Me and Kat made a balloon wreath for our room in the old hotel. (which was awesome.)We went on a trip to focus on the family, where Narnia is.
Seth and Jessica are awesome Canadians. No cell phones in class! I'm so gansta.
Mya, the amazing from Hawii. (no joke) And since this is still a fashion blog thing.... The guy had an awesome hardy boys shirt style! This guy had a super sweet bowtie
And hair combs at fargos pizza! The best place for pizza in the entire world!
I also have a photo of a guy in a kilt some where....

Up town girl, living in her bright red world.

dadadadadadaaaaa and now she's looking for a down town man, thats what I am.
So I started writing this post weeks ago, and I sort of forgot about it. I figured you guys might be getting bored though, so here's the outfit anyway.

I've been feeling great in all the outfits I've been wearing, I have just neglected to photograph them. But when I clean off my camera's memory card, maybe then.

I sometimes forget that the last shall be first.

Really I'm talking about photos in my title, but I guess it works both ways. See the first photo is suppossed to be the last one, and it follows that the wrest are out of order. Originally this outfit came about by my need to hide my greasy hair. But I absolutly loved it!

I bought these new shoes today for 16 bucks at khols. They are a t-strap basket weavey things. :D

Thanks to Becca again for the lovely photos! And thanks to Jessler for the first two.

Its nice to feel like a pretty young lady sometimes, waiting at the 'train station' with my basket purse.

So sorry love.

I know its been awhile. I usure you that I have still been dressing up, I just haven't been photographing enough. These outfit photos are from Sunday. I borrowed an amazing book from the library called 'the fashion file' from the costume directors of mad men. Every day now I wake up and say to myself "Who do you want to be today?" And everyday I've dressed so that I don't even worry that my outfit isn't "good enough" its weird that one small question each morning can change my whole view on my wardrobe.

I picked up some things during larg trash pick up. :D

Thanks to Becca for the photos!

I went with some friends to see Ballet Magnificat's 'deliver us' it was absolutly amazing! If they ever tour in your area, you should def. go. I almost cried during it. Seriously moving.
