Well, the plan was to upload a bunch of vacation photos, but the problem is, I've got a BUNCH of vacation photos. Right now I'm rather lazy so I'll just show you a few vacay photos: hehe this little guy makes me smile:) Zoo in Indy.
Yes, I pet a shark. I'm so tough;) Indy zoo.
This beauty was in the butterfly house at the Indy Zoo. The problem was there were only a few butterflys in there.
And a photo from the garden.
And this last one was taken at the Oliver Winnery. It was such a romantic place! I loved it.
More to come, L<3VED

Heading off to Indy in a few hours.
I'll be back sometime on Saturday. Until then watch this music video over and over again. A WARNING though, she dresses rather immodestly, its like the Miley thing where she wears bathing suits instead of clothes. Only, this music is much better then Mileys.
There will be a quiz when I get back.
Remember, modest is hottest, and you don't have to shave and wax as much. So keep clothed.

Almoste time to leave
So we're leaving for Indianapolis-well, we are staying out side of Indy, but we are visiting museums and the zoo in Indy. This is an outfit I'm taking: The shorts and yellow shirt are from a clothes give away we went to on Saturday, it was raining, but I walked around and found some good stuff.
The shirt in this photo is also from the give away. I made this bracelet yesterday after eating some water melon. I know you can't see it well, but they are watermelon seeds. Pretty cool aye? Yeah, I know XD
Now to todays outfit-which is put together in photos because I didn't want to leave my room.
Today we tried to go the CMOE-a childrens mesuem in our area, but it was closed, we tried to go see the LST, but it left, and we tried to go to another mesuem...which was also closed. So we ended up at the zoo.
I also went to the chiro today because I've had a head ache for a week. My brothers feet stink. He's sitting right next to me. It reeks. *passes out* *wake up to sign off*

Male modesty
As you may have noticed I put up (by the way, what does op mean? No little red line appeared before it as when I tried to type up, so I'm assuming its a word) a poll in the side bar about male modesty.
There is no question in my mind that guys can be in modest. But its just a bit more socially excepted.
So we have all of these hilarious vampire movies coming out and well, I'm sure you already know who I'm going to bring up. Jacob black, yes that kid, the one who takes his shirt of every ten minutes for a little bit of mild porn.
But the thing is, this isn't something that most people notice as being immodest, this is socially excepted because guys don't have breasts. I'd actually like to do a bit more research on male modesty history, and discover how the shirtless trend came about.
The bottom line is, just as girls can help guys sin by showing too much skin, guys can make girls sin just the same.
Think I'm wrong? Just go to the movies and watch the girls lust over Jacob.
Oh my, wouldn't it be amazing if my future husbands mission was to create modest bathing suits for guys? Since thats my mission for girls.
L<3VED
P.S. I'm not just talking about the skinny minnies, just as people don't like to see over weight girls in bikinis, they don't like to see overweight men or boys topless.

A note to the newbies. Sorry, hate to use a gamer term on blogger :b
A blog post should be like a skirt: Long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep it interesting.
Since this is a modest style blog, this means that your blog post should be more then one sentence long. If you would like to only post one sentence, there are some amazing sites that are happy to let you do so. Such as Facebook, and twitter.
That is all. Thank you. L<3ved
P.S. Of course it is your blog, don't let little old me tell you what to do;)

Being crafty
My second Narnia post.
Sorry, these photos are post skate so I'm still wearing my socks and I'm sweaty! Before the socks I had on my brown sandals. I didn't get to skate very long because it was late, and I left my new torch in Narnia.
I love this map skirt! It would be awesome if it was actually a map of Narnia, but for the sake of the season, lets say it is:)
ew see? Little sweat drops. Thanks so much for the encouraging comments on my last post! L<3VED

Name calling.
The time has now come to write about something that I was raging about a few months ago. I have now calmed down enough that instead of ranting, I will be expressing views and opinions that could help and encourage and convict other people. Which is what I want to do.
We all know that in our dress we communicate ideas, which is why fashion is sometimes called "wearable art" I was talking with a friend from church about clothing and communication. She told me that when she was in high school it was sort of the "pre goth" era, and that kids would wear safety pins in their cheeks and ask her what they thought about them.
She said that if she dressed in (I forgot her first example so I'll make up one) a suit you would think something of her, and if she dressed like a doctor-with a stethoscope and a white jacket, you would think something different. So we came to the conclusion and the safety pin cheek people were scary.
This conversation really helped me as I had struggled with the idea of actually communicating with fashion. Most of the time I just think "This looks awesome, people will think its weird, I'm going to wear this loud and proud,"
The thing about fashion in Christianity is that we want to communicate that we are not part of the crowd, and that we a confident in who we are in Christ. I do this by staying modest.
Pentecostals (I don't want to stereotype so I wont use a sweeping generalization) generally wear skirts and don't cut their hair.
The thing is, sometimes things are wrongly interpreted. And sometimes are wrongly interpreted on purpose which I think has happened to me.
You know that lovely red beret I sometimes wear? A while ago somebody commented on it saying something about me being a jew. This person was there when I took my vows at my church-Covenant reformed orthodox presbyterian church (Yes, I dare you to remember that name after only reading it once;) And I knew he knew that I'm not a jew. At the time this young man's father was there and he did say something about it which I was grateful for.
Just today that same young man made another comment. I was wearing my Narnia elf princess crown thingy (do they have elves in Narnia?) Anyway, here is how the conversation went:
"Hippie,"
"Elf queen,"
"Hippie,"
"Elf queen!"
I regret now that I did not follow this script:
"have you ever seen a hippie?"
"how do you know what they look like?"
"do you know what they believe?"
"You know that I am a professing Christian because you were there when I took my vows, are you trying to offend me?"
"how do you know what they look like?"
"do you know what they believe?"
"You know that I am a professing Christian because you were there when I took my vows, are you trying to offend me?"
Anyway this is turning into a rather long post for having zero photos.
Bottom line is, do not put others down, lift them up and encourage them in their faith.
Thanks for reading, L<3ved

FOR NARNIA!
So today is the second day? Of the Narnia's wardrobe event here
http://the-christian-fashionista.blogspot.com/
I actually dressed more like one of the boys when they first arrived, though, a bit more dischevaled.
Time of war.
My sister though people might think I was mintally ill when they say me wearing this. She mocked "Why are you wearing that?"

aw I crack myself up;)
I tried something new today for my acne. I put 2 table spoons or reg. suger and 1 or brown suger and a drop or two of hony into a little container with some water and used it as a facial scrub. I'll use it until its gone (unless it irritates my skin) and let you know if it works.

Sooo...
Next week my family and I will be traveling to Indianapolis for vacation. So far the only fashion attraction I have found is something about a Barbie exhibit at a museum. I was hoping for something with, well, shall we say a bit more class?
Are any of you lovelies stationed in Indy? It would be super d duper if we could meet up! Though I don't know what my parent would think about that...;)

Ever blogger knows....
That once the sun is down, good blog photos are hard to come by. See what I mean? This is the result of taking photos in the hallway, you know, the place where everybody walks!
"Ten seconds is all I ask!" I exclaimed in a tone of panic as my mother and brother rushed to get out of my way. Still blury:b But these next ones are better.

Origanaly I put on the map skirt on with a grape shirt and my "egyptian sandals" Because we are studying ancient Eygpt in school. "Again Mom?" haha do you have any revisited subjects in your schooling?
We are using the curiculam Tabestry of grace this year for history, geography, Bible, and liturature. And we are doing it with another homeschool family. Ya know, the one my best friend lives in:) It should be a blast!
For math we use the teaching Text books. I'm in Alegabra 1. Yes I know! Very behind!
And we are doing a homeschool co-op called CHEER 2 and I'll be taking basic cooking skills, writing, and biology disection (should be fun:) for the first semester.
We are also participating in Edu-teens/kids, which will be more of a field trip/volunteer this year since it pretty much failed as a co-op. I'm also doing Toast masters with some of the edu-teens people. I cannot wait! L<3ved

Of course I don't have photos up here of all my friends, but I'd like to share a few special moments.
Taken by Aubrie's phone.

Shot by miss Karen. (my other mother:)
Taken by Aerial? By the way, when Aerial spent the night, my hair brush dissapeared and a fork was left in its place. Coincedence? I think not.

Extreme pattern mixing
So today I was having trouble "being inspired" most the time when I feel like that, I pull out this lovely green, tribal patterned jacket. So today I decided as I stared at my clothes, that everything I wore had to be patterned. Even the pocket watch and the shoes. This was the result: I liked it very much. As usual, when I don't think about an outfit, it somehow turns out perfect:)
Thats right ladys and gental men, this outfit was free to me! Didn't cost me anything. At all. Score!
So on Saturday night I went with my friend to go see the Jazz musical 'aint misbehaving," it was good, but not quite what I expected. You can read more at http://stonewallfarmlife.blogspot.com/2010/08/guest-post.html
By the way, how in the world can I get copy and paste to work on blogger? I had to type out that address above. Also, that post gives away my real name *cry* Oh well.

Me: So?
Mom: okay.
It was pretty hot too! But I stayed inside most the day (I know, shameful;) I think I'll wear this my first day of my new co-op this year, as I'm sure it will leave a lasting impression.

She's a brave one.
One of my favorite things to do is roll around on my inline skates. Just recently I started wearing safety gear....lots of safety gear! Some people think that wearing a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards is dorky. But in reality, its smart! For a long time I was willing to wear hats that others may concider silly, yet I would not venture to wear a helmet. But the thing is: I look good with out brain damage:) And if we're going with this idea that I don't care what other people think (thats just what I want them to think;) I should be brave enough to wear a helmet.
I think that in todays society its braver to wear a helmet, then not to. Which is really silly in my opinion:b
Yes I know, its been a while since I updated. I'm sorry about that. But don't you love my polka dots and stripes?
